Public Health England works under the Department of Health here in the UK and works towards supporting local authorities. Those employed by the PHE are usually scientists or public health specialists. PHE works to promote healthy living, and to provide information to the public about health issues. Department of Health and Social Care Helpline

The Department of Health and Social Care provides funding and support for the PHE and can be contacted by calling the number above. The Department is responsible for creating and implementing legislation throughout the UK and ensures that guidelines are followed by health care organisations in the UK.

Complaints

You can make a complaint to the PHE Complaints team on the number above. You can make a complaint to the team if you are receiving PHE services, or are close to someone who has received assistance from the PHE.  The NHS is not governed by the PHE, and complaints regarding care should be directed at local NHS complaints lines.
