Maternity Grant England Contact Number

The Grant from the Maternity Allowance team is usually given to you if you do not qualify for the Statutory Maternity Pay. Eligibility Helpline

You can find out your eligibility for a Maternity Grant by using the eligibility calculator. You’re eligible for a grant if you are employed, self-employed or earning more than £30 a week, yet cannot claim maternity allowance. Claims Helpline

To make a claim for the Maternity Grant, you will need to fill in an MA1 form and send it to address printed on it.  You will be asked to prove your income, the baby’s due date, and your SMP1 form if you were refused Maternity Pay from your boss. Once you have made a claim, you will receive your grant within 24 days. For help with your claim, you can call the claims line and ask for assistance from a member of the team.

Payment Services & Helpline

Payments are usually made to your bank, and grants are usually received within 24 days of making a claim. If you have not had a payment, or would like to declare that you have been given the wrong amount, you will need to call the Payment Services. This is a direct line, which means you will not be placed on hold before speaking to an operative.

Complaints

If you are upset about a decision to refuse you both maternity pay and a grant, you can contest it and make a complaint. To do this, you can call the complaints line.
