Job Centre Christmas Opening Hours

Although Christmas is an exciting and generally happy time of year, it is the unfortunate reality that life must also, go on as normal. Opening times of places such as doctors, banks and post offices are often disrupted over Christmas, usually being open less than usual. The Job Centre is also the same, and they will have their regular opening hours replaced with Christmas times. Of course, as it stands, if you are claiming Job Seeker’s Allowance, you are required to visit the Job Centre once every fortnight to ‘sign on’ and also prove that you have been using your free time to search for a job (35 hours per week). When you sign on, you will be meeting with your work coach to discuss all the things you have been doing to optimise your job search – the Job Centre must be alerted to a change in your circumstances at any time. If you are a claimant yourself, you are probably familiar with this process by now and have probably been alerted as to when you are expected to attend over Christmas. However, if you need to pop into the Job Centre during the Christmas period for help and advice, it is worth knowing when they are open and when there will be advisers available for you to talk to.

During the ‘Christmas Holidays’, the Job Centre Opening Hours are to be as follows (please note that this is subject to change) :
